Welcoming all those interested in learning about Eurovision, more specifically the Russian participants and involvement in the contest! Eurovision is an extremely popular singing contest that originated in Europe and has been broadcast for over sixty years. The contest started by only including European countries but now over forty countries participate in the Semi Finals and then the winters make it to the Grand Final, always including the previous years winner(the host), France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the United Kingdom. Russia does not participate in Eurovison every year as they are not technically located in Europe, but they were first invited to participate in the contest was in 1994. Since then they have been invited to the contest twenty different times and they even won in 2008 when Dima Bilan performed on behalf of the country.
